Kyosho Wave Chopper

(Excuse the messy work bench)

This was a new kit
I didn't like the instruction to paint the seat silver, so I covered it with a fine stretchy vinyl, just pulled and glued it underneath.
They  also want you to use tape to seal the covers for the radio and motor areas (insane) not only is it a hassle, but you get tape glue all over. I glued soft airplane fuel line along the edge for a seal and made clips that swivel out of the way, the motor area I just ran two SS screws to hold it in place.Dcp_3584.jpg (667001 bytes)

First time out it ran pretty slow, I changed the motor and as I tested it, I saw it had a lot of vibration, lousy motor mount design, I added a section of aluminum angle across the tops of the two motor mounts, tying them together and adding strength.
The motor is a GP Thrustmaster,  runs on 7 cells, it ran much better.
I have not played with it much, it's more for goofing around, but it does attract a lot of attention
