Graupner Mambo

I purchased this boat directly from Denmark, used and needing restoration.
First I stripped the old decals off and painted it, it had two drivers in a row that looked cheap, I painted the interior of the wind shield and mounted it with screws, stay away from glue as much as possible.
It's about 22" long and thin, looks like a jet with out the wings.

I installed a Graupner speed 600 that I got from the Systems boat, I found out from a site in Germany that it was designed for the 600 and this boat was a favorite overseas.
With the 400amp ESC (overkill but had it) and the radio equipment, it does not leave much room inside with one 6 cell battery, I can fit a 7 cell battery , the esc and motor have no problems with 8.4 volts.
It has adjustable trim tabs that start under the boat hull.
I dropped it in the water with just a 6 cell and was amazed at the speed, it actually skips on the surface of the water, But I can't turn left at high speed due to the prop torque.  I made an extended rudder from aluminum, but it did not help.

Dcp_3257.jpg (403898 bytes) When I had offset the rudder to one side, it left several small holes and one large. I used brass brads cut down to fill the small holes. The larger hole I mounted a blinking light that is activated when the receiver power switch is on.
