Graupner Systems Catamaran

"Systems" is a 32" long (overall including outdrive) scale model of the Gallagher/Kaiser deep sea catamaran world's champion boat. Hull is 29" long, 10.6" width (beam).

When I got this boat it needed some cosmetic fixes, the windshield were a mess with glue, I made new windshields from cutting the top part off plastic 2 liter Pepsi bottles.
A new Dean's wire whip antenna and a gear set for the twin speed 600's, both gears were cracked, I ordered a new set (very hard to find) and installed them, it ran OK for the size of the boat (this is by far the largest boat I have). Not satisfied I installed a speed 700BB.
Hobby Lobby informed me that it was more efficient than the geared motors, I had to make the motor mount from aluminum angle stock and make a saddle for the back of the motor.
The short flex shaft was $13 it is 5mm to 4mm. the shaft stuffing tube had to be replaced to come as close as possible to it to eliminate a severe wobble.
I made a simple servo activated  On/Off switch with two batteries in series sending 14.4 volts to the motor, runs very good, not the fastest boat I have, but is competitive for it's size.

I was letting a friend drive it and she hit the fountain dead on, it went over it like a ramp landing flat about two feet behind it and kept going, the crowed got a rise out of that, did nothing to the boat.
