Maison & Objet 2013: these ice-cream painted poufs and rugs by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola for Spanish textile trademark Gan were introduced at Maison and Objet design fair in Paris this week. Patricia Urquiola's Lana Mangas collection for Gan, a division of the Gandia Blasco scheme brand, comprises modular elements that can be arranged in a variety of configurations. The range incorporate cross-shaped rugs that form an interlocking floor covering. A seating module with a little backrest can be combined with square and rectangular poufs to make flexible seating planning.

A bold signature style. Meet Greg Natale, one of Australia’s best creators and explore the universe he visualized for the Clarke Payne project. The designer got a remarkable effect by mixing details of modern patterns with the artistic style of the 17th century. Overwhelming images filled with valuable velvet populate the living space, giving birth to that perfect royal ambience, pictured in movies. As the internal room is dominated by shades of grey mixed with white details, a particular cool ambience is preserved.The baroque details, the high ceilings with the white detailing enlarging on the walls, the neutral colours, the chandelier and the eloquent cold beauty gives us the feeling that this is a European aristocratic residence, updated to our contemporary tastes and standards.

A big coffee table build from walnut, rosewood also brass makes a focal tip of visual warmth. Mann created the table with Studio Culture. She also had the sofas custom-made. In the corner, an uncontemporary Jacobean-style armchair easily combines with the contemporary furnishings. “The mixing of variety and phase always feels a bit more collected and interesting,” Mann says.
