We begin with the living space of interior designer Nate Berkus (back when he lived in Chicago). This extensive living room features a range of looks, from industrial shelving to gilded chairs. Berkus’ area reminds us that some of the most absorbing interiors involve a mix of styles and pieces.

Kravitz's first big project was a traditional Biscane Bay, Fla., manse he called Villa Roxie after his mother, actress Roxie Roker. The outcome was a decorating contention between Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz's clean, contemporary classicism and the rocker's love of a louche 1970s appearance. Later, a more victorious collaboration with architect-designer Michael Czysz on a Miami Beach ranch residence resulted in a design mind-meld of epic proportions—a shagadelic synthesis of Hugh Hefner's early Playboy clubs and the film A Clockwork Orange.

Shelving looked to be a very plentiful line of work for the designers who were present with creations at Milan Furniture Fair. We have seen so many distorted and completely unexpected shelves that we hardly managed to make a selection. We originally photographed this cool shelving plan but then recognized that the whole living space arrangement is worth sharing. So here it is, in all its creativity. A modern and yet warm atmosphere is generated by the simple and yet novel overall design. The beautiful white couch contrasts with the wooden surrounding furniture. And check out the highly primary table design with decorative wooden detail, some of them placed suddenly outside the table perimeter. Nicely done!

Now that spring is here, so many plans swirling about in my head for “garden getaways” in our yard. Too many ideas. Truly, it can be kind of overwhelming to be me somedays, haha (anyone else overwhelm themselves with all the ideas and possibilities? Yes? No?). But like all innovation and grand plans, it can take time to dream up and implement the ideas that make the most sense.

I have more than a week since I have an Iphone 3GS and I have to say that I love this phone. Now since I have bought this phone I’m more aware of all the things that are related to iphones. One of those things that got my attention is Finite Elemente’s new 1 is what you could call a sound board, and is basically a good-looking iPod and iPhone dock in the shape of a shelf. That’s not all. It comes with all of the necessary ports to connect it to your home theater system and a remote control. The load capacity of the ledge is around 55 pounds, but that actually depends on the wall that it’s fixed onto, since this is a floating shelf. The Horizontal 51 should be obtainable soon, although the $660 asking price is pretty cold.

As a result, in most residences this area is found near the entrance, most of the time on the ground level being used often and offering support for a lot of activities. These are some of the main reasons for which we should pay notice to it and ensure the propper comfort and atmosphere within. Probably the most fundamental thing in the design plan should be identifying the actual role of the space within the home. You should also keep in mind and design the living room for yourself! In the end you will be the one spending the most time in there and it should fit your requirement like a glove, no compromises should be made in this regard.

Climax the wall: Your television can blend or it can be the focal point. Every people want it to be the focal point as it costs a lot of money, and you want every people to see it! For you, painting an accent wall that your television is hung or placed in front of will draw emphasis to this wall. If you are one that would like the television to blend, assess casing your television in a piece of furniture that can be closed, such as an armoire or entertainment center.

For me, the living room is more than just a comfy and relaxing space – it also needs to be a multifunctional space where a home-owner can really express their style. I think the most important detail is a comfy sofa and extra seats for guests but a large rug, accent cushions and lighting can rapidly lighten up the dullest of rooms. I love the clean white setting and mix of textures with a yellow highlight colour in this Scandinavian living room arrangement. The extra fireplace or wall art is the cherry on top!
