Studio ALBUS Design stolen our breath away with a project inspired by Brazilian culture. Gathered about 150 pounds of bananas commemorate artist Carmen Miranda’s influence on cultural diversity, a collection of carefully chosen decorative elements create a Latin-inspired home comfort. Encouraging this radical aesthetic creativity started bynda, the d Carmen Miraesign created by architect Henrique Steyer and designer Felipe Rijo, of ALBUS Design was imagined to encompass the owners’ significant artwork and antiques collection – “the illustrations by Djanira in the wall over the sofa share the space with a painting by Di Cavalcanti and the cocoon-shaped sculpture by Siron Franco” – as well as an interesting collection of feather art displayed throughout. Baroque saints or silver torches following to an antique mirror rob the spotlight once you got exert to the bananas: “Yeah, we have bananas!” That is how we sum up this project in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil. Inspired in the Brazilian culture or its many influence, this living space is an instance of Brazil’s cultural diversity. This luxurious living space is designed by Leeds-located designer Eduard Caliman. The scheme is done in a pale neutral palette also with a heightened feel of elegance, and it’s already decorated for winter. This project contains components that belong to the Visionnaire Ipe Cavalli brand assemblage such as the feathery mirror (Bird) and the console (Gretel) while the sofa was designed by Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia. The lamps and the ceiling lights come from Giovanni Sforza Home luxury Collection and were carefully taken to further depict a brighter and luxurious lifestyle, and I think, the designer managed to create a cozy and elegant space for those who love classics mixed with modern style.

Neutral living areas always look chic and so serene that I can not help admiring them. If you are planning to decorate your living space in a neutral palette, then the most popular kinds today are Scandinavian and minimalist: beige, grey and white, natural wood and stone, fireplaces and comfy furniture. But in instance you want some luxury, take glam style – gilded neutral furniture, expensive calm fabrics and green plants. Coastal style is also a great plan if you design a beach house or a holiday one – add pale blue to the palette and some sea hints and voila! These colors are win-win, so do not hesitate to use them!
