The Biombo is wooden with the screen portion hinged. The front decorated portion of the screen concertinas down to form the chair. The screen frame still has a backing for back support. One question that remains is how much weight can the chair handle as it looks quite lightweight.

Studio ALBUS Design stolen our breath away with a project inspired by Brazilian culture. Gathered about 150 pounds of bananas commemorate artist Carmen Miranda’s influence on cultural diversity, a collection of carefully chosen decorative elements create a Latin-inspired home comfort. Encouraging this radical aesthetic creativity started bynda, the d Carmen Miraesign created by architect Henrique Steyer and designer Felipe Rijo, of ALBUS Design was imagined to encompass the owners’ significant artwork and antiques collection – “the illustrations by Djanira in the wall over the sofa share the space with a painting by Di Cavalcanti and the cocoon-shaped sculpture by Siron Franco” – as well as an interesting collection of feather art displayed throughout. Baroque saints or silver torches following to an antique mirror rob the spotlight once you got exert to the bananas: “Yeah, we have bananas!” That is how we sum up this project in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil. Inspired in the Brazilian culture or its many influence, this living space is an instance of Brazil’s cultural diversity.
