To make this different shelf designer Martin Gallagher brought many layers of plywood. He made a block of them and painted just the inner part. The colour of the inner part can change according to the light. Strip is a original shelf for your hall or your living room; here you will frequently look your keys, glasses or cell phone. And yet many elements of the design came about by happy accident. Some features were lucky discoveries (see Tried + tested) or caused by suppliers sending the wrong materials while others were a result of interior designer George – an associate with Bugs Design Consultants – throwing a professional eye over the work in progress and saying, “Stop!” The solid wall running the length of the living room and kitchen, for example, was to be smooth and even in colour. But after the contractors had finished a section of the kitchen wall, George obvious he preferred the different shades and textures of the unfinished concrete slapped onto the living room wall, so he called a halt to the work and declared it good.

We decided to smash the geometry of the room, thus getting rid of the habitual dead-end planning. The wall with a TV was decorated with felt-lined console (felt is better soundproof substance); between the panels lenient local lighting was built-in and the wall itself was designed in such a way that it makes impression of lightness. The main part protrudes with regard to the basic wall, and mirrors are attached to the lower and upper parts of the wall, which create you feel like the wall suspends. For their makeover, the couple chose a modern blue sofa, a dark blue mat, a media cabinet and a new console to achieve the modern Asian style they were after. The room is softened with two tones of yellow paint, and the space finishing touches contain graphically situated image frames and brushed-nickel accents. A large orchid in the center of the room separates the two seating regions and adds instant Eduard C?liman style.

Also the general use of stone surfaces on walls, floors and exterior areas can be considered as an example of the use of local elements. Besides, the use of stonewall boards in the primary living spaces is one of the most important features of the design.” From shiny marble tables to futuristic-like sculptures – everything seems to drop into room visually. The overall scheme appears to be fascinating and intimidating, in the same time.
